IT CAME FROM THE DESERT is a feature length film released worldwide in 2018.
We started developing the project in 2014 with director Marko Mäkilaakso and executive producer Tero Kaukomaa (Iron Sky, Dancer in the Dark).
Originally we had an idea of making a film inspired by a cult video game from late 80’s by Cinemaware called IT CAME FROM THE DESERT.
Marko started to write the script revisions with US writers Hank Woon and Trent Haaga.
After we had a solid version of the script ready in 2015 we started pitching the project to financiers in film markets like Berlin & Cannes.
We agreed with Canadian sales company Raven Banner to start making presales for the film as part of financing and sold territories Germany, France, Italy, Latin America, Canada, China, Thailand, Australia / NZ.
Early 2016 we got Finnish Film Foundation and co-producer AMP Alliance Media Company (UK) on board and we were ready to green light the film.
Late 2016 shootings took place in Almeria desert, Spain and continued in Finland.
After heavy post production in 2017 the film was released early 2018 in: USA, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, China, Japan, Australia, Latin America, Philippines, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Turkey, Thailand, Middle east, Poland.
